S.O.S. BURNED / S.O.S QUEMADO: My project: S.O.S. Burned (S.O.S. Quemados)

The problem

I Want to investigate if the people can react to an emergency and especially to the burnt one, and if it does not know I will do an offer of change in the formation of the pupils in order that one works this topic in the schools. To gather information I will do a questionnaire on the burns and how a person reacts when someone is burning. I seek to arouse those who surround me in order that they realize that to know how to act can up to saving other persons of the dark burns. My project is called S.O.S. Burned (S.O.S. Burned), a title that summarizes the questions that I investigate

Do we know what is a burn?
Can we value the gravity of the burn?
Do we know how to act when someone is burning?

Aims of the investigation

The final aim is to save persons who are burning. My offer looks that, in a continent advanced since it is Europe, there are debated in the schools of secondary education this one and other topics related to the first aids, in order that our descendants could know how to treat a person with burns or that it is in situation of danger. This is not alone a topic of sciences but of general culture.

Theoretical foundations

1 º That are the burns?

In medicine, a burn is a type of injury in the skin caused by diverse factors. The thermal burns take place for the contact with flames, warm liquids, warm surfaces and other sources of high temperatures; though the contact with elements to extremely low temperatures, also produces them. Also the chemical burns and electrical burns exist.

2 º Classification

The first degree

The burns of the first degree limit themselves to the superficial cap of the skin epidermis, it is possible to call him like eritema or also like epidermal.
Signs of the burn of the first degree:

Reddening (Eritema)
Pain to the tact
The skin is filled a bit

The second degree

The burns of the second degree cause flictena or you blister, they can be of partial superficial or deep thickness. Those of partial superficial thickness concern the epidermis and the dermis papilar. On having removed the flictemas the bottom is pink, they are painful and there is sensibility to the tact. The majority they are caused by warm water. Reepitelizan between 7 and 14 days.

Signs of the burn of 2 º degree:

Strong reddening of the skin
Pain You Blister (Flictenas)
Glossy appearance for the liquid that festers
Possible loss on behalf of the skin
Hypersensitivity to the air
Increase of the vascular permeability (edemas)
Blisters in burn of The Second degree.

The third degree

A burn of the third degree penetrates for the whole thickness of the skin; including nerves, blood, lymphatic glasses, etc. If the follicles are destroyed pilosebáceos and the sweat glands, one compromises the capacity of regeneration. This type of burn does not hurt to the contact, due to the fact that the nervous completions were destroyed by the thermal source.

Signs of the burn of the third degree:

Loss of leather caps
Often the injury is painless, because the nerves remain rendered useless (it is possible that the pain is produced by areas of burns of the first degree and the second degree that often surround the burns of the third degree)
The skin meets dry and with appearance of leather
The skin can turn out to be singed or with white spots, coffees or negresses
Leather break with exposed fat
Edema
Surface dries
Necrosis
Superinfection

Fire
Exhibition prolonged to warm liquids
I Contact warm objects or electricity
Explode

Fourth degree

There are hurts of muscles and bones. They are in the habit of appearing in burns for extreme cold and freezing. It can end in necrosis and fall of the extremities (arms or legs).
The burns for I fry also they are used by beneficial intention in medicine, for example to eliminate bacterial or viral colonies on the skin, the liquid nitrogen being used generally (-196 °C) for this end.

Precedents of the problem

The idea of approaching the topic of the burns arose before a school task on percentages in which the teacher us put a video in class on his application in the calculation of the burnt skin.

Since my I like the topics related to the health I thought that it would be a good idea to study the treatment of the burns and his prevention.
